Laura mercier face illuminator indiscretion

Hello and welcome to my blog - I'm in love I have found the one. I've owned this product for about 5 hours after lusting after it for months it's everything I've ever wanted and more!!!
Look how beautiful it is oh my god.

So I've trawled the internet looking for reviews on this product and I haven't really found a lot about it from UK bloggers/youtubers which I was quite surprised about.
I'm sure most of you know about the brand Laura mercier, so I won't get into that.
This is my first Laura mercier product and I will deffo be purchasing more!!!
So firstly the packaging - I find this very meh it's almost quite cheap feeling I hate this gap it has which you can see the mirror through; I'm just really not huge on the packaging. It has quite a decent sized mirror inside but I rarely take highlighters out so I don't see mirror actually being used it feels slightly unnecessary.

The way the powder is pressed is STUNNING like holy macaroni that is gorgeous, it reminds me of sand at the bottom of the sea (not that I go there often).
The formula of this highlighter is lovely - it's nothing out of this world but it's lovely, it seems too apply really nice it's not overpowering it feels like a high end product - just to add that you do get 10 grams of product so there is quite a lot.

This also has the most beautiful colour I think it's very 'me', it's like a champagne rose gold and it is too die for, I'm a huge rose gold lover and I think this is going to look great next to benefit rockatuer blusher I can't wait to try it like that.
 (With flash and then without)

Overall I think this is a great product and I am in love - this is a limited edition which is annoying but I think I will be purchasing a backup!!! I think for me this is a must have product and when it's no longer sold I will pine for it and spend my life looking for a dupe (but not the Mac one, never the Mac one).
Right so that is it!!! If you have any questions about this product or anything else please do not hesitate too ask!! As always any feedback is appreciated, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Glossy box 2 May 2015 UK

Hello and welcome to my blog!! As you can tell from the title and my earlier Instagram post this is about my second glossy box!!
Now last months box was a huge disappointment for me and I can say that this box has given me some faith. While the products in it aren't necessarily products that I would love and would go out and buy I can see myself actually using them which is always a good thing !! My only criticism is that I would like more makeup but you can't please everyone!! I noticed that last month I didn't actually take any pictures for my blog post but I've made sure I have done for this month!!
Now I assume most people reading this will know what glossy box is but for those who don't it is a monthly beauty subscription box in which you receive 5 luxury samples every month straight to your door, there we actually quite a few full size products this month which I was very impressed with.

So firstly the spoiler product we all knew we was getting and that no one seemed to want - me me me enchanted eyes dual ended eye wand in blue. I don't see myself using this maybe 15 year old me would of loved blue eyeshadow/eyeliner but 21 year old me definitely doesn't. That being said i don't think it's a bad product I just don't like the colour it swatches nicely and I will most likely give it to my sister. This was a full size product and retails for £6.95

Next is a moisturiser this is etre belle aloe Vera moisturising gel again this is full size and retails for £15.93 At 40 mls this is a pretty pricey product. The brand I believe is German I couldn't really find much info on them I did try this one out this morning and I'm not sure how I feel about it, it is very hydrating but there's something I don't like about it; but I'll try it out a little bit more and if anyone is interested in a more in depth review let me know!!

Zerreau towel off shampoo foam, this isn't actually a full size product but it is 70ml and I feel like it will last a long time, unfortunately a lot of mine leaked which means I have smelt it and it smells lovely, I haven't tried this yet I'm really fussy with hair products and I do actually wash my hair daily because I feel dirty if I don't basically, I love the fact this is a cruelty free product I think that's always a huge plus; I'm not sure this will have a place in my life but I will keep it in my bathroom and who knows what emergencies may arise.

Sass intimate perfect skin concentrate again this is not full size but it is 30mls and I do feel you get a good amount. I'm actually quite looking forward to using this it says it's for ingrown hairs in initiate areas. This is pretty gross to talk about but I had a csection when I had my baby I do sometimes get ingrown hairs along the scar (bikini line), and I do also from time to time get them in my underarms so I think this will definitely come in handy for me and I do look forward too using it.

Last but by no means least is collection cosmetics field day lipstick this is a full size product and retails for £2.99 I got this in the colour 2 tulip - I love the colour and it's a handy lipstick to have in a hand bag. Unfortunately I left this in reach of my little girl and she decided too eat it :( I do have some left but I think I'll buy a replacement because I really like the colour.

So that's it for my glossy box !! Let me know what you got in yours !! Any feedback is always appreciated be sure to follow my Instagram billiesbeautyinsta I am running a giveaway and please subscribe!! Have a lovely day !!!

Makeup on a budget!!

Hello and welcome to my blog!!
Today's post is going to be about spending a little less on makeup. I love high end makeup but I also love a bargain hello I'm a mum!!!! I'm trying to save up for driving lessons to unfortunately my make budget has been cut :(. So here's my top tips on how to get what you want!!!

Firstly is a new discovery of mine and what inspired me to write this post an amazing app called depop. Depop is used to sell many things but I've only been looking at makeup 🙈 it's kind of like an ebay instagram. I've seen people selling unused too faced bronzers for like £14!!  The only thing is there seems to be a lot of fake products floating around depop so you definetly have to be careful!! I also have seen a lot of people selling used mascaras, I really think this is pretty gross and you should never be using a mascara that has been on someone else's eyelashes so be sure to check what your buying and read all the info!!!

Research research research !!! When buying high end products I feel it is so important to really research if they are actually worth it so many products I have i so wish I'd researched a little bit more and not wasted my money, find a youtuber or blogger that you really trust the opinion of and that you feel likes similar things too you (my favourite is fleur de force).Go to the counter and try out this specific product several times before you buy it, don't be afraid to ask for a sample if it is something that can be sampled. Just always make sure you 100% want and will use the product before you buy.

Don't have doubles !!! I am so guilty of this, at the moment I have 5 open bottles of foundation why ????? I don't need five open. In future I'm not going to buy any untill there all used im so guilty with this with mascaras too, I don't think I've ever finished a mascara and it's such a waste of money. I definetly think I could cut down my spending by only opening one at a time.

Look for dupes !!! Oh you know that Mac lipstick you love that cost £15.50 they sell a dupe in superdrug for £1. Obviously it's nice too have better lipsticks but if you are trying to budget I feel it's an area you can deffo cut down on!!! I just got some great makeup revolution lipsticks (some not so great) ,and I think they are definetly worth looking into. You can find dupes for almost anything as ive said before bourjois do a lot of chanel dupes!! Again if you research you'll be able to find what you want for way cheaper.

Do not fall into the packaging trap. I am so guilty of buying things just for the packaging and never using them but they look cute!! It's a serious waste of money and possibly my biggest down fall. Please do not let packaging tempt you as they say never judge a book by its cover!!

Try to go out with out makeup on - again I am guilty of this but what is the point in putting a full face on when your just popping to tesco for some milk. Try and cut down what you wear, you don't need a heavy contour and smokey eye to go to the library c'mon now.

Get a points card, pretty self explanatory really boots and superdrug both do them so definetly worth getting!!!

So I think this is it for my tips - if you have any others please leave a comment!!

My top 3 lip products

Hello and welcome to my blog!
I haven't really blogged much lately I've felt a bit disheartened and like it's kind of pointless. But anyway I need too start it up again so this blog post is going to be about my favourite lip products!! Now anyone who knows me knows just how much a love a bright barbie pink lip, and only recently have I started wearing colours that aren't bright barbie pink, I'm just going to talk a little bit about my favourite 3 lip products.

My number 1 all time favourite that I have spoken about before is the bourjois rouge edition lipsticks - obviously my favourite colour is 07 fuchsia graffiti. This lipstick is super pigmented creamy can be built up to be very opaque it is long lasting but obviously if you are eating drinking ect you are going to need to top it up. I've been in love with this formula since I first found it about 3 years ago and I have it in almost all the colours it is truly beautiful and I believe it's only £7.99

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks - unfortunately I only have one of these in the colour milkshake. Unfortunately this colour isn't great for me as I'm so pale but I can make it work with the help of a lip liner. Any way the formula of these is so so beautiful they are so pigmented and easy to put on last all day and are just gorgeous the only bad thing about these is that they are drying but I don't really think there's any liquid lipsticks out there that aren't drying. I'm so excited to make another order from abh soon and try some lip glosses and some other colours - a lot of people ask where I have purchased my abh products before, I order directly from them shipping is expensive but it's here in about 5 days and I just feel like I trust them more then ordering from somewhere else but I do hate ordering makeup online. I really really hope one day in the not so distant future they will branch out over here - also I'd really like them to start selling the cream contour kit pans as I need refills and do not want to buy a whole palette please.

My last and by no least favourite lip product is eos lip balm, anyone who has tried this pretty much loves it. I first got it when I was pregnant and had super dry lips and I still use it now and it's actually sold in the uk now so I don't have to get it shipped anymore!!! I love eos lip balms if you haven't tried them definitely go and try one they're great especially if you have super dry lips like me !!

Right that's it on lip products !!
I'm actually in the process of writing a super makeup revolution review post so keep an eye for that like its gonna be massive. I'm also trying to set myself up for a YouTube channel so keep an eye for that too I'm hoping to have it up and running for like July time - if there's any lighting you would recommend buying or anything you would recommend doing please let me know!

Advice!

Hello and welcome to my blog !!
Today's post is going to be my first advice blog. If you follow me in Instagram you would of seen that every Sunday I'm going to be posting an advice blog. This can be about anything from day to day life to makeup literally anything you need advice on, you can either dm me via Instagram or email me at billiesbeautyblog@gmail.com
So the first thing I was asked about was exfoliater - somebody looking for some thing more gritty then their ysl one. Honestly I have never used any ysl skincare so while I can't compare I can say that my all time favourite is St Ives apricot scrub, it is gritty smells nice and makes your skin feel amazing. I exfoliate daily even though it is recommended for 1-2 a week. I've been using this since I was about 15 and am never without a bottle of it in my bathroom. They do a few different  ones for different skin problems but the normal one works fine for me. I also use this all over my body. Another exfoliater I am loving is the benefit facial polish but this isn't very gritty - I am giving away some of this in my Instagram giveaway so be sure to enter!!
I've also been asked to talk about sunscreens. Well this is something I don't really have a lot of knowledge on, I have this really amazing skin that doesn't burn and goes a beautiful brown and I'm just so lucky even though I'm so pale. I've literally never worn sun screen since I was a child. But I do make sure my little girl is slathered in factor 50 when the suns out. When she was about 6 months old I coated her in this blue sun screen and it went every where and I was covered and she was covered and then she got covered in sand and we had to go to the nearest shop and wash her down in a bathroom sink. So while I don't know a lot about sunscreens, I do know that in part of my giveaway is benefits facial emulsion which has SP15 and so can be used as a facial sunscreen, but honestly I cannot give any advice about this sorry!!!
What is the best shampoo for bleached hair? Now some of you may or may not know I have worked and studied hairdressing though I never qualified (I literally just had 1 hair cut left to pass), not finishing my hairdressing qualification is a big regret of mine but we live and learn and hey !! My hair is so chemically processed it's unreal ive been every hair colour you can imagine. Bleaching your hair will literally strip the protein from your hair so you should always buy a protein based shampoo for bleached hair my favourite is redken extreme, but too much protein in your hair is going to dry it out so you need too find a happy medium. Mine is redken extreme shampoo teamed with the all soft conditioner and the all soft heavy treatment once a week. I also use redken extreme anti snap. Redken are basically my favourite hair care brand. Phillip Kingsley elasticizer is also an amazing treatment for really damaged hair my hair always feels so healthy after using this !! I always recommend buying a salon brand shampoo and being recommended it from your stylist who understands your hair needs!!

So this is the only 3 questions I received :( I was originally planning to do this weekly but I think monthly may work better, let me know what you think!!
Anything you need any sort of advice on please do not hesitate to ask me!!

My everyday face!!

Hello and welcome to my blog today's post is going to be about my everyday makeup.
Now I love love love makeup but I'm not a makeup artist so this is just how I do my makeup and what works for me.
So obviously I am a mum so I do not have hours to get ready every morning. I usually get about an hour to myself to have a coffee, get showered dressed and do my makeup so I really don't have time for that everyday full glam!!
So to start - moisturiser I usually use simple moisturiser. I love this moisturiser and always have a bottle in my bag.
Then I prime - at the moment I've been using ysl touché éclat blur primer I have written a review on that if you want a little more info I love it !!
Foundation - now this varies depending on mood but mostly it's Dior air flash in 200. There are two ways of using this foundation, spraying it directly on to the face of spraying it onto a brush and applying. I spray it directly on the face for a lighter coverage it can be pretty messy doing it this way so make sure all hair is out of the way and you don't have on the clothes you are planning on wearing!! Spraying onto a brush gives you more of a full coverage I use either my real techniques stippling brush or buffing brush (depending what's clean but I do prefer my stippling brush), you have to work really fast with this as it dry quickly and a little goes a long way!! This is a staple foundation for me I adore it and love that I can do so much with it!! Sometimes if I'm going out and want really full coverage I'll do a light spray of this over a different foundation.
Concealer - I use ysl touché éclat pen in the shade 1. This can be used for highlighting too so I do put some down my nose ,around my nostrils and on my brow bone. I do like this as a concealer but wish it offered a little more coverage, I think I'm going to purchase it in a different shade.
Powder - for powder I've been using benefits hello flawless powder in the colour 'I'm cute as a bunny honey'. This powder does provide coverage and is really truly flawless I do a very light dusting of this either using my lottie London powder brush or a bog standard eBay powder brush.
Bronzer - now in my makeup routine I use 2 bronzers. This first one is too bring some warmth to my face. I use makeup revolution vivid baked bronzer on an angled brush and sweep across my face starting from forehead in a 3 motion. At first glance I thought this bronzer would be really orange and horrible but it's lovely for that subtle sunkissed look.

Bronzer 2 - this is for my powder contouring so I need too use a matte bronzer for this I use makeup revolution ultra bronzer. I take some of this on my real techniques sculpting brush for my cheeks and forehead, I then take some on my real techniques setting brush and contour my nose and jaw; then I take what ever powder brush I used and just blend the contour through.
Highlighter - now again I actually use 2 highlighters first is from the bourjois chocolate bronzer and highlighter. The highlighter in this is very subtle and so perfect for my nose, forehead, around my nostrils, Cupid's bow, lower lip and chin. I usually apply this with any small kabuki.
Highlighter 2 - makeup revolution vivid baked highlighter in pink lights I take this on a fluffy fan brush and apply to my cheek bones and very lightly dust over my forehead.
Blusher - I mainly use benefit rockateur with my real techniques blusher brush on the apples of my cheeks.
Lips -  I tend to wear bourjois rouge edition in 07 fuchsia graffiti I apply tis with a lip brush around the edges of my lips and then fill in.
Eyeliner - rimmel khol kajal eye pencil in jet black on my waterline

Mascara - benefit roller lash. This mascara is the most perfect mascara I have ever come across it is literally the most perfect mascara ever I am so completely in love with it. It gives my lashes perfect length and volume!!

And that's my face done 🙈 this takes me about half an hour unless I'm disturbed.
What's your makeup routine? How long does it take you? Are any of these products in your makeup routine? Let me know!!
Please subscribe and follow my Instagram billiesbeautyinsta I'm currently running a giveaway and a couple of these products will be in there 😏😏😏

Ysl touché éclat blur perfector balm review and dupe!!

The Hello and welcome to my blog!!
Today's post is going to be a short review on my blur perfector and the dupe I discovered.
So the description for the blur perfector from the ysl website is .....

Our make-up artists favourite weapon for radiant blurred perfection

For the first time at YSL, two never before combined benefits come together: light & blur. This multi-action powder-in-balm perfector, acts like an invisible foundation: visible pores appear minimised, skin feels smoother and complexion looks more uniform. The invisible, weightless new generation balm texture leaves skin feeling silky-soft.

It can be applied all over as a complexion perfector, as a finishing touch to complete your make-up routine, or as a perfecting and mattifying touch-up during the day.

So I've used this a few times and in all honesty I'm not amazed. It's a good product but it's not really for me. The compact is beautiful the balm is in a pretty pink colour and everything is just gourgeous too look at. I first tried this over my makeup to use in place of a powder, I didn't find it mattifying enough for me plus I felt it moved my makeup underneath. I tried it on top of powder for a little extra help and again it done the same thing. I tried using it on bare skin and it is beautiful really does fill in pores and lines and feels so velvety. I tried using it as a primer and it was not so great - but it isn't sold as a primer so no big deal.

The only time I've really found this useful is when I'm out and about as a slight touch up so I don't go oily and for bare skin days (but I'm only ever really indoors on those days so what's the point), I'm kind of upset I haven't fallen in love with this product beause it's so pretty and I really wanted to love it. But I do feel to good product just not for me unfortunately. I will definitely keep this compact as a travel mirror thought when the balm has run out because it really is gourgeous.

Now on to the dupe, so literally the day after buying the blur perfector I found this in superdrug and was like I have to have it too compare!! It retails for £9.99 blur perfector is £31.50 so there is quite a difference!! Obviously from reading you've seen im not huge on blur perfector and I'm not huge on this either. The packing is horrible in all honesty the balm is white and just feels like a more watered down version. I tried this in all the same ways I tried blur perfector and it had all the same faults, I definetly wouldn't recomend this product to anybody because the quality just isn't there but that's just my opinion, I checked the boots website and there are tons of great reviews for this product so I just think these balm type things just aren't for me!!

If your going to go for a balm definetly go for the ysl it is much better, but I would recomed trying it out at the counter a few times and really doing some reaseach because it is so pricey!!

Thankyou for reading my blog !! Please let me know your thoughts on these products and how you use them!!

As always any feedback is always appreciated.
